Overview

Our client will be hiring an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for a graveyard shift in Wilsonville, OR. Work with Operators in furnace area and Mechanics, also in molding team.
The Maintenance Mechanic performs routine equipment repairs and preventative maintenance in a manufacturing environment. Mechanics receive training in electrical, mechanical, plumbing and plant operations to ensure they are able to perform this role with minimal supervision.

The schedule will be Monday through Friday graveyard shift starting at 7:30 pm and ending at 4:00 am . The training schedule would be on the swing shift, Monday through Friday 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm and would last 2-3 months.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance of pneumatic, vacuum, mechanical systems, and maybe some hydraulics as well.
  • Installation, modification, design, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment and machinery used in manufacturing and building operations assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
  • This includes equipment throughout the production operations and facilities systems including those used in production processes such as, but not limited to, light work maintaining buildings and grounds functionality and safety.
  • Performs routine duties while using mechanical, electrical, and PLC/controls skills to do tasks as needed to maintain operation and safety of assigned equipment.
  • Take the lead in the diagnosing and repair of all assigned department equipment.
  • Assembly and disassembly of mechanical equipment. Troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Configure and repair plumbing, brazing, basic electronic repairs and some TIG/ARC welding.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in an industrial production or military setting focused on the maintenance of pneumatic, vacuum & mechanical systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree counts for 2 years of experience, mechanical or controls technology is ideal.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience troubleshooting production running Siemens PLC hardware and software.
  • Skilled using a variety of hand and power tools
  • Mechanics and industrial automation knowledge.
  • Experience utilizing a digital multimeter (DMM) for troubleshooting.

Preferred:

Must have a basic understanding of how Siemens PLC Hardware and software work to be able to use running PLC programs to diagnose and repair furnace problems and Siemens PLC hardware faults.

  • Able to obtain forklift certification through company trainings

Work Environment:

Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment.
Work in a manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
