Overview
We are seeking an energetic, curious, and technically motivated Cloud Ops Engineer to support a broad range of technology operations and services. We are looking for someone who enjoys learning new technologies, investigating how things work, solving problems, and finding better ways to automate and manage technology.
This role supports both on-premises and cloud-based applications and infrastructure and combines traditional systems administration with cloud technologies, automation, release management, and DevOps practices. The successful candidate will work across multiple technical functions to help maintain and improve our environments while supporting internally developed applications and critical business systems.
We value technical ability, but we also value initiative, curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn. The ideal candidate does not need to know every technology on day one but should be comfortable researching problems, learning new tools, and taking ownership of technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain internally developed applications and supporting infrastructure, including server builds, deployments, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Design, implement, and maintain automation using PowerShell and other scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
- Support software releases and deployment processes using Azure DevOps and related tools.
- Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and identify opportunities to automate repeatable operational processes.
- Administer and support Windows Server 2019 and newer, .NET/web applications, and related infrastructure.
- Support services and workloads running across Microsoft Azure and on-premises environments.
- Monitor systems and applications, configure alerts, troubleshoot issues, and proactively address system vulnerabilities, reliability, and performance concerns.
- Participate in infrastructure and application projects and work collaboratively with development, security, networking, database, and other technical teams.
- Help improve operational processes through automation, documentation, and standardization.
- Contribute to improvements in security, reliability, monitoring, and compliance.
- Research unfamiliar technologies and technical problems and develop practical solutions.
- Maintain technical documentation and share knowledge with other members of the team.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in systems administration, cloud operations, release engineering, or a similar technical role in an enterprise environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server environments.
- Experience using PowerShell for administration and automation.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with source control and deployment technologies such as Git, Azure DevOps, or CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience troubleshooting applications, servers, and infrastructure.
- Understanding of basic networking, security, and enterprise infrastructure concepts.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work independently, investigate unfamiliar problems, and collaborate effectively with other technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, including compute, storage, networking, or platform services.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, including pipelines, boards, work items, or YAML.
- Experience with infrastructure as code or automated infrastructure deployment.
- Experience with Azure Automation, Logic Apps, or similar automation technologies.
- Experience supporting .NET or web-based applications.
- Exposure to enterprise monitoring platforms and Azure Log Analytics.
- Experience working in an Agile or DevOps-oriented environment.
- Experience using artificial intelligence tools, such as Microsoft Copilot or Azure AI, to improve a process, automate work, strengthen documentation, or solve a technical problem.
- Relevant Microsoft or industry certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Security , or similar credentials.
