Software Engineer (Production Solutions)

Our manufacturing client will be hiring a Software Engineer to join their growing Production Solutions team in NW Portland.  Programming skills in C#, Java, or Python is ideal.  Strong troubleshooting experience and knowledge of ERP systems is preferred.

The team provides high quality technical services to the silicon wafer fabrication plant. The team gathers requirements and implements product software configuration to the mechanical robots that cut, grind, polish, measure, and ship Silicon wafers. Silicon wafers are the semiconductors that are utilized for manufacturing microchips and chips in electronic devices.
 
This position will be working onsite in NW Portland 3 days per week.
 
This role will be part of the Production Solutions team. Our team works directly with our internal stakeholders and not with external customers. They would serve as the application product owner and subject matter expert working directly with the engineers who work with the robots in the Fab to produce wafers. This role would assist in translating a change request between the local business experts to our software development team. A successful Product solutions team member would be proficient in managing project roll outs including testing, debugging, documenting, and capturing new needed features. This role would also be the go-to for all troubleshooting and issue resolution within their application purview. Lastly, they will work with the system’s vendor support team or global support team to update and configure new tools, software, equipment managers, databases, db apps, etc.
 
Responsibilities

• Product Owner and SME. 
• Programming in C# and Oracle PL/SQL.
• ERP knowledge is helpful, expect to pull data and fix issues in SAP.
• Troubleshoot and resolve errors or problems with computer applications
• Translate user requests into functional software upgrades for our development team to create
• Design, test and implement computer systems
• Design logical data and process models
• Facilitate identification and agreement on software requirements/specifications through interactive sessions with system operators
• Report on progress against project timelines
• Develop user and system documentation of computer systems
• Contribute to cross-functional continuous improvement teams

 
Qualifications:

• Experience is a Product Owner, SME, or Application Support Engineer
• 1+ year programming in C#, Java, or Python is ideal
• Semiconductor industry
• Database developer with PL/SQL (preferred) or T-SQL
