Overview:
Our hardware manufacturing client will be hiring a Senior level Hardware Engineer to join their team.
They engineer, manufacture, and assemble technologies that provide critical infrastructure for the world's largest and fastest networks. The Firmware, Software, and Hardware is developed in house. 20+ year old company, financially stable, and expecting 30% growth in 2023. The customers are Fortune 500 companies with interesting network security problems.
This position will be 100% onsite in Portland, Oregon or Plano, TX.
You will have a unique opportunity to design and develop complex high speed interconnected ecosystems that are flexible and scalable. In this role you’ll participate in the design and development of large scale super high-speed, cutting-edge packet processers and packet switches.
This role owns a project from its inception all the way through the final build on manufacturing floor. As the owner, you’ll work closely with various teams throughout the project development. As well as design all elements which includes architecture, block diagram decisions, schematic capture and board bring up.
How does this role add the most value in the first few months? There are existing hardware projects to get plugged into. Some products are near design completion, and two products are just kicking off, also there is a next generation platform in discussion.
Responsibilities:
- Designs and develops 100G – 400G network switch solutions from concept through production
- Participates in technical reviews of product requirements
- Design schematic
- Oversees PCB layout
- Performs board bring up and design verification
- Works closely with software engineers to optimize design and debug products
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience with strong design and development of hardware, specifically Ethernet switching and/or routing products
- C/C++ experience is required to develop, test and debug embedded system designs
- Experience and knowledgeable with Verilog or VHDL coding for FPGA/CPLD
- Experience in validation and design of block diagrams, schematics, and layout of test code and drivers
- BSEE or BSCE required (MSEE a plus)
- Experience in high-speed digital designs with 10G/25G/100G Ethernet
- Experience using PCB layout tools (Cadence OrCAD and Allegro preferred)
