Job Overview:
Our client will be hiring a Lead Platform Engineer with experience developing large-scale, cloud-native systems on AWS.  Experience with AWS Services is important: Kubernetes (EKS), Lambda functions, step functions.  Also, programming skills with TypeScript and Python is critical.  This position will be responsible for project leadership, communication with Architecture, Product, and DevOps teams.

100% remote.    
 
Responsibilities:

  • Develop a robust, scalable AWS cloud-based data platform and tools that will give greater capabilities for reporting and analysis.
  • Work with Databricks, programming in Python and TypeScript. Translate requirements and use JIRA ticketing system.
  • Collaborate with a team of 5 Software Engineers. 
  • Share in the ownership of the technical vision and direction for advanced analytics and product insights
  • Design, implement and support an analytical data infrastructure providing ad-hoc access to large datasets and computing power
  • Manage AWS resources including S3, EC2, RDS, EKS and more
  • Work with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS big data technologies

 
Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, developing large-scale, cloud-native systems on AWS.
  • 2+ years with AWS Services – Kubernetes (EKS), Lambda functions, step functions
  • Leadership qualities, comm w/DevOps team, Product team, and Architecture.
  • Programming skills with TypeScript and Python is important.  

Preferred:

  • Experience with Databricks
  • Experience with data platform technologies in AWS built on-top of S3, MySQL and ElasticSearch
  • Experience with GraphQL and Event Driven Architectures
  • Proficiency in building data products incrementally and integrating and managing datasets from multiple sources.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and microservice architectures
  • Experience integrating with SalesForce
