Overview:

Our client will be hiring a Senior Hardware Engineer with experience in a communications-related product design.

This role will design and develop complex high speed interconnected ecosystems that are flexible and scalable. In this role you’ll participate in the design and development of large scale super high-speed, cutting-edge packet processers and packet switches. In addition, this individual will help by providing hands-on technical support to the engineering department. The Senior Hardware Engineer owns a project from its inception all the way through the final build on manufacturing floor. As the owner, you will have the opportunity to work closely with various teams throughout the project development. As well as design all elements which includes architecture, block diagram decisions, schematic capture and board bring up.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for hands-on technical functions in support of the engineering department
  • Designs and develops 100G – 400G network switch solutions from concept through production
  • Participates in technical reviews of product requirements
  • Design schematic
  • Oversees PCB layout
  • Performs board bring up and design verification
  • Works closely with software engineers to optimize design and debug products

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ hardware development experience in a communications-related product design
  • Experience in Ethernet, networking and switching
  • Experience using schematic/layout tools, (Cadence OrCAD)
  • Knowledge in PCB technology, stack up development and highspeed layout considerations

Preferred :

  • Technologies like Ethernet, networking and switching, 10G/25G/40G/100G/400G
  • Experience using schematic/layout tools such as Cadence OrCAD/Allegro
  • Designing boards with processors such as x86, Freescale, ARM, multicore processors
  • Designing boards with technologies like PCI Express (PCIe), SATA, I2C and PMBus, SPI, UARTs
  • Designing memory systems such as DDR3, DDR4, DDR5, flash
  • PCB materials technology, stackup, via types, layout, stub length, backdrilling
