Senior Network Engineer (Fortinet)

Overview :

Our client will be hiring a full-time Senior Network Engineer with experience designing and deploying network architectures using Fortinet. 

This role will use Fortinet products, including Fortigate, SDWAN, Firewall Policies, FortiManager, FortiNAC, VLAN, and Network Segmentation. 

Someone who is eager to learn cloud networking (Azure) that is well-versed and experienced in Fortinet could be a good fit.  

HYBRID role – 3 days per week onsite in Vancouver, WA.

This role provides senior level networking and engineering support for the data center, networks, cloud, and information systems in a Corporate IT environment. This role provides technical leadership with peers and other teams and helps the Manager of Infrastructure Engineering set technical direction.

This position reports directly to the Manager of Infrastructure Engineering and maintains direct relationships with Executives, Directors, Managers and the field.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy highly scalable and secure network architectures using Fortinet and Azure technologies.
• Optimize and troubleshoot existing systems, applications, networking, cloud, and other enterprise datacenter infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain cloud-based network infrastructure (Azure Virtual Networks, VPNs, ExpressRoute, etc.).
• Integrate on-premise networks with Azure and other cloud environments for hybrid cloud solutions.
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability and redundancy.
• Evaluate infrastructure solutions and make appropriate recommendations based on organizational goals.
• Develop technical standards for enterprise infrastructure.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting and complex problem resolution on escalated issues while monitoring and maintaining environment stability.
• Conduct research to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
• Document software and system configurations.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on Fortinet technologies.
• Expertise in FortiGate firewalls, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer
• In-depth understanding of network security principles, including firewall policies, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SD-WAN and NAC
• Interest in learning Azure.

Preferred:

• Proven hybrid (on-premcloud experience), Azure preferred
• Experience with Azure cloud networking.
• Experience using Fortinet products, including Fortigate, SDWAN, Firewall Policies, FortiManager, FortiNAC, VLAN, and Network Segmentation. 
• Proficiency in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc.), and switching technologies
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices and compliance standards
• In-depth experience with VMWare/NSX Networking and software defined networking
• Experience with Edge and Core Networking, Cisco Nexus is preferred
• Experience in a geographic disparate multi-site WAN
• Experience with server hardware, Cisco UCS preferred
